He's Home!

After 10 days in a row of the night shift of overtime, Rick was home yesterday. He took a vacation day so he could catch up on sleep and spend some time with me and the kids. It was nice to have him around. Overtime came up again today, but Rick got called out early this morning so he will be home around noon. What a crazy schedule; there is no rhyme or reason to it. The way Rick put it, getting put on the shift that stays after the regular work day is good from a financial standpoint. Getting called out early in the morning is a lot easier when it comes to family life. Please pray that our family would have a peace that passes all understanding as we learn to balance the two different shifts.

  1. Oh my goodness - what a tough schedule! It's so hard - even with the financial benefits. Will be praying with you over this.

Enjoying a good snow day today and will have to do some baking - of something today. =) Hope you have a blessed day today.

  4. At this time in our lives...when hubbies have to take the work that comes along...it's really difficult ...I'll pray that the times that you're able to get together will be very special and they will help to keep you going.

  6. I'm glad you all got to spend some time together. My mom works at night so it's hard to plan getting together with all my siblings and parents. She has a lot of overtime work as well. Hang in there.

  7. These are hard days. It is just a season. . .and as surely as winter will turn to spring, this too will pass. If you belong to a fitness center with an indoor pool, that is one activity my kids have really enjoyed this past snow week. The library too is a good outlet. And when you don't want to/can't get out, there are always forts complete with popcorn and a portable DVD player (or just drag the entire t.v. in with you!)
